Was awarded the Young Scientist Medal in 2008 for a practical use of biosorption and bioaccumulation mechanisms in the environment- and health-friendly applications.
Dr. Chojnacka developed an innovative method of industrial wastewater treatment, where microalgae are used for the removal of heavy metal ions. Additionally, dr. Chojnacka devised a method of foreseeing contamination concentration in plants on the basis of soil composition as well as a method for obtaining new generation mineral additives on the basis of the (out) micro- and macro-algae biomass.
