Graphene Laboratory, Warsaw University of Technology - Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering, WUT

September 24, 2015 new Graphene Laboratory, part of  Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering, was opened at the Warsaw University of Technology. Graphene Laboratory provides facilities for manufacturing of the standardized flake graphene (i.e. graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide and graphene flakes) with a specific functionality for research of new materials and searching for innovative graphene applications.

The main areas of scientific activity of the Graphene Laboratory:

  • Manufacturing of standardized graphene flakes (graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide and graphene flakes) with reproducible, precisely defined properties for future applications,
  • Development of functionalization and modification methods of graphene flakes for its future applications, e.g. for the preparation of new composite materials, as well as for chemical, electronic, automotive and aviation industry and biomedicine,
  • Studies of the physicochemical properties of the new nanomaterials containing graphene flakes.
  • Standardization of physicochemical graphene flakes properties and normalization materials containing graphene flakes,
  • dissemination of knowledge about flake graphene and its applications.

The most important scientific equipment in the Graphene Laboratory:

  • Chemical synthesis reactor designed for manufacturing of graphene flakes
  • Ceramic membrane filtration system
  • Vacuum oven/reactor
  • Laboratory three roll mill
  • UV-Vis spectrophotometer
  • CHNSO analyzer
  • EDXRF spectrometer
  • Multi-module system TGA/DSC/FTIR/QMS
  • Rotational rheometer
  • HPLC system
  • Inverted optical microscope with manipulators
  • Climate chamber
  • Plasma chamber
  • Spin coating
  • Tape casting
  • Homogenizers and ultrasound dezintegrators

We encourage all research teams and the institutions interested in applications and studies of graphene flakes to contact with our laboratory:
