Conceptual workshop "Processes and transformations in complex systems", Chęciny, 26 - 29.10.2023
The Conceptual Workshop "Processes and Transformations in Complex Systems" was held from October 26 to 29, 2023, at the UW Korzecko European Center for Geological Education in Chęciny.
Scientists from the University of Warsaw, Warsaw University of Technology, the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Max-Planck-Institut für Geoanthropologie, as well as id and PhD students of Warsaw University of Technology were invited to the event, which was co-organized by the Centre for Systemic Risk Analysisat the University of Warsaw and the Center for Advanced Studies team at the Warsaw University of Technology.
The program of the symposium was multidisciplinary and included more than a dozen lectures from various scientific fields, from the mathematical and natural sciences to the humanities - archaeology, sociology and psychology.
Their common thematic denominator was processes and transformations in various types of complex systems, manifested in the form of phenomena such as the climate crisis, the Covid -19 pandemic, and the development of artificial intelligence. The symposium was an opportunity for a lively discussion and confrontation of different points of view, from the perspective of many scientific disciplines, which proved to be an inspiring factor for even greater creativity in research pursuits.
