Professor Tomasz Łętowski - eminent specialist in acoustic engineering and measurements, process of hearing, audiology and hearing protection systems.
He is a graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology as well as its Professor Titular. From 1994 to 2012, Prof. Łętowski held a position of the Director of Auditory Research Group at the U. S. Army Research Laboratory. Currently, he is a Guest Researcher Emeritus at U.S. ARL. Also, he worked at: the Department of Industrial Engineering, North Karolina, A&T State University (HBCU, Greensboro), the Department of Communication Science and Disorders in Towson University, Baltimore (MD) and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Michigan Technological University w Houghton (MI).
Professor is the author of over 200 publications and 150 conference papers related to the sound and speech communication, spatial hearing, detection and identification of sound signals, sound quality in industrial applications, auditory virtual reality and hearing protection systems, in particular, in the army application. Moreover, Professor Łętowski is the author a few of patents.
Prof. Łętowski was and is a member of many scientific organizations, for example: American National Standards Institute (ANSI) or International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
Professor Łętowski will be a guest of the Warsaw University of Technology from October to November 2013. As a part of his visit, Professor will give a series of lectures on the acoustics, perception and processes of hearing.
The guest will be hosted by Prof. Jan Żera and Prof. Stanisław Janeczko.
