Professor Matthias Bickelhaupt is a world-renowned specialist in applied and theoretical chemistry.
He is a head of a top leading research group, the one rated excellent by an international Chemistry Review Committee, at Vrije Universiteit in the Netherlands.
Professor Bickelhaupt’s research projects concern developing chemical theories and methods for designing molecules, nano-structures and materials. Additionally, Professor Bickelhaupt works on the applications of quantum mechanics and computer simulations of chemical processes.
Professor Bickelhaupt is the author or a co-author of more than 200 articles which were published in scientific journals. The number of his citations, according to the Web of Science, is 7159.
Professor Matthias Bickelhaupt will be a guest of Warsaw University in September and October 2013. As a part of his visit, he will deliver a series of lectures on theoretical chemistry and 3 lectures within the ADF course “from a hydrogen atom to Density Functional Theory”.
Professor Bickelhaupt’s visit at WUt will be supervised by Halina Szatyłowicz PhD, DSc Eng. and Professor Stanisław Janeczko.
