Zeev Baran – Honorary Consul General of Poland in Jerusalem, architect, urbanist.
He was born in Vilnius in 1935. He is a graduate of Technion (Israel) and the Ecole Nationale de Beaux Arts (Paris). Mr. Baran opened his own architect office in Jerusalem. The office gathers a multi-ethnic team, and one of its main projects is focused on planning and design for developing countries and for the minority groups living in Israel.
Apart from performing architect’s duties, Mr. Baran has committed part of his life to didactic activity both in Israel and abroad. His gave numerous lectures and his travels all over the world were a starting point for building and maintaining international relations and forms of cooperation.
In 1999 Zeev Baran was nominated as Honorary Consul of Poland in Jerusalem and a few years later, in 2012, he became Honorary Consul General of Poland in Jerusalem. Mr. Baran’s goal is to promote Poland in the international arena. He has been continuously working on new challenges in Polish-Israeli bilateral relations and diplomatic dialogue. On the initiative of the Polish President Bronisław Komorowski, Zeev Baran got engaged in a series of lectures and debates on Historical Coexistence of Poles and Jews and A Call for Reconciliation. Mr. Baran is a recipient of many honours and awards.
Zeev Baran will be a guest at the Warsaw University of Technology in June 2014. As part of his visit, Mr. Baran will deliver two lectures: Homeland Security and Habitat and Human Perception.
