Professor Maria Aparecida Soares Ruas

Professor Maria Aparecida Soares Ruas is a distinguished mathematician; she completed her doctoral studies at the Department of Math and Computer Science, University de São Paulo, Brazil; and she works there  as a full professor till the present day.

Professor Ruas concentrates on theory of singularities and its application in geometry, singularities classification, topology of real and complex singularities, also on catastrophe theory.

Professor Ruas is an author and a co-author of numerous publications (books, scientific papers).

She will visit Warsaw University of Technology in October 2010, and will be hosted by Professors: Irmina Herburt and Stanisław Janeczko.
