Professor Suman Kumar Mitra

Professor Suman Kumar Mitra works at Institute of Information and Communication Technology Gandhinagar in India.

His research isconcentrated in the area of image processing and computer vision, face recognition, speech recognition, data analysis using Bayesian Network and digital image watermarking.

Suman K. Mitra obtained M.Sc. in Statistics from Calcutta University and his PhD in Computer Science from Indian Statistical Institute in 2001.

Professor is an author and a co-author of over 30 publications, 12 books. He is also a coeditor of International Journal on Image and Graphics (IJIG) by World Scientific Press. In addition, he obtained two patents - ‘Method of compressing an image’, ‘A method for block based digital image watermarking’.

Professor is a member of the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Indian Society for Fuzzy Mathematics and Information Processing (ISFUMI), IEEE, Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA).

Professor K. Mitra will visit Warsaw University of Technology from March to April 2010. He will be hosted by Professor Władysław Skarbek, Professor Remigiusz Rak, and Professor Stanisław Janeczko
