Her scientific research involves developing and applying innovative methods in quantum chemistry, which will enable research on both weak and covalent bonds. Her focal point is DNA and the influence of hydrogen bonds on genetic code. Moreover, Dr. Guerra investigates, crucial for industry, mechanisms of reactions in the chemistry of carbon and silicon. She is a member of Amsterdam Density Functional Program.
Dr. Guerra is the author of over 60 publications published in scientific journals. The number of citations of her articles, according to the Web of Science, is estimated at 4702.
Dr. Guerra will visit the Warsaw University of Technology in May, June, September and October 2013 and will deliver the lectures on Understanding hydrogen bonds In DNA base pairs and quartets with the Amsterdam Density Functional Program as well as will conduct a practical Course on the Amsterdam Density Functional Program.
Dr. Guerra will be hosted by Professor Halina Szatyłowicz and Professor Stanisław Janeczko.
