Professor Terence G. Langdon is an eminent specialist in materials science. He is affiliated both with the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, University of Southern California (USA ) and Engineering and the Environment, University of Southampton (UK).
Professor Langdon’s research interests are related to: mechanical properties of metals and ceramics, superplasticity, flow mechanisms, processes of severe plastic deformation (creep), properties of ultrafine-grained materials. Professor Langdon is an author/co-author of over 800 articles published in international scientific journals (the h-index: 88). He is a laureate of numerous awards and honors, for example: Doctor Honoris Causa, Russian Academy of Science; USC Associates Award for Creativity in Research and Scholarship; Albert Sauveur Achievement Award, ASM International; Blaise Pascal Medal in Material Science, European Academy of Sciences; Lee Hsun Award, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Acta Materialia Gold Medal. He gave lectures as a visiting scholar at numerous universities in the world.
Prof. Langdon will visit Warsaw University of Technology in October 2014 and will be hosted by Prof. Małgorzata Lewandowska and Prof. Stanisław Janeczko.
