Professor Gaetano Assanto
Visit at WUT: May - June 2014
Professor Gaetano Assanto – worldwide appreciated specialist in nonlinear integrated optics; currently affiliated with the Department of Engineering, University of Roma “Roma Tre” (Italy).
The author of many publications. Professor Assanto is a member of numerous scientific associations: Optical Society (OSA), IEEE-Photonics Society, Novel Optical Material and Application (NOMA), Italian Society for Optics and Photonics (SIOF). He was a visiting lecturer at: University de Nice (France), INLN-CNRS (France) and Universidad de Vigo (Spain).
He is or has been a member in the editorial board of: Journal of the Optical Society of America B, IEEE Photonics Journal, Laser Physics Review, Trends in Applied Sciences Research, Research Letters in Optics, International Journal of Optics, Journal of Nonlinear Optical Physics and Materials (JNOPM), Photonics Letters of Poland, Optics Letters, Nature Scientific Reports.
Professor Assanto’s visit, to take place in May/June 2014, will be supervised by Prof. Mirosław Karpierz (Dean of the Faculty of Physics, WUT) and Prof. Stanisław Janeczko. As part of his visit, Prof. Assanto will deliver a series of lectures on Introduction to Nonlinear Optics and Photonics.
